Light down the middle of the house

Timber stair with the glass balustrade.

A square of blue sky
dropped into the hallway, and
the stair climbs toward it.

Not every project is a whole house. This one was a stair, a skylight and a powder room in a narrow Alexandria terrace, and it changed how the house feels more than its size suggests.

Timber treads with a glass balustrade so the light carries down, a recessed LED handrail, and a skylight shaft that washes the hallway below. Small jobs get the same detailing as large ones, because the detail is the job.
